The use of a simulator for training, testing and verification purposes is part of an operator’s training programme [ORO.FC.145].
The simulator must be certified and suited to the type of aircraft used by the operator. This means that the operator must verify whether the equipment of the simulator corresponds to that of the type of aircraft used.
Differences between the simulator and the equipment of an aircraft are permitted if they are mitigated by appropriate, individual training [ORO.FC.145 (d)]. The operator must record the differences and mitigation measures in the OM-D. A differential list must be kept for this purpose [ORO.FC.145 (d)].
Verification takes place during audits and/or inspections.
