Airworthiness Engineering Section

This section is responsible for the approval of designs of aircraft and their components and equipment. Its activities are based on national legislation and on the regulations of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Its duties also include the creation and publication of airworthiness directives of the Federal Office of Civil Aviation and other national supervisory authorities, including instructions to aircraft operators to carry out modifications in order to maintain airworthiness.
