Air Operator Certificate

Flight operators who want to carry out commercial air transport services with complex aircraft have to be certified by FOCA. Initial certificates, and any subsequent modifications of an AOC, are issued and carried out in accordance with the ICAO 5-step model.

The following documents are required for an initial certification:

Issuance of operating licence

The commercial transport of people and goods require an operating licence. Prerequisites, among others, are a Swiss AOC and proof of sufficient economic viability (for full requirements see Art. 4 of Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008).
Applications must be sent in written form together with the following information:

  • Details about the air operator
  • Contact information of the responsible person
