Pursuant to regulations FCL.050/SFCL.050/BFCL.050, a pilot shall keep a reliable record of all hours of flight time flown.
As part of the digitalization of licence services, FOCA encourages the use of electronic or digital logbooks. Digital logbooks reduce mistakes, allow a useful monitoring of pilot expiries and simplify the license application processes.

FOCA accepted logbook formats

FOCA as competent authority establishes the following forms and manners of a pilot’s logbook to be acceptable:

·         Paper logbooks in the format established in AMC1 FCL.050; submission to FOCA for license applications shall be in the form of a pdf attachment signed in handwriting or digitally page by page by the applicant. A confirmation of the hours by an approved entity is required;

-       An ATO/DTO/AOC holder or Examiner when stipulated in the regulation (see application form);

-       For SEP revalidations: Swiss Airport Authorities, a FOCA registered Examiner or FOCA Flight Personnel against an additional fee.
