• What should be documented in the OM?

  All processes, instructions and information required in accordance with ORO.MLR.100 as well as all policies and work instructions directed at the personnel of the operator in connection with flight operations and its safe conduct, shall be recorded in the OM. The content of the entire OM (including linked content such as the EFB Manual) is subject to the revision and approval processes defined in the OM.

• What can be documented in a separate manual/document (e.g. GHSM etc.)?

  The following information may be published in a separate document.

  • Any instructions and information from the operators to contracted service providers and their personnel (e.g. ground handling service providers).
  • Information addressed to own personnel not within the scope listed above (e.g. Announcement book).

  Such documents are subject to the operator's internal revision process, but need only be submitted to the FOCA upon request. The operator shall ensure continued compliance of the contents of these documents with the contents of the OM.

  If an operator decides to publish such additional manuals/documents, these should be mentioned in the relevant chapter of the OM whenever possible (e.g. OMA 8.2 "Information/instructions for the ground handling service provider are described in the GHSM").

Revision Operations Manual

The respective processes are outlined in the OM. Revisions that require notification but do not require prior approval must be notified to the FOCA 30 days before publication.
