Overview of possible compensation payments and support assistance

Text of Regulation [EC] No 261/2004 in brief:

The air carrier has to offer the air passenger the following:

• Denied Boarding against will

  • Meals and refreshments in reasonable relation to the waiting time
  • 2 telephone calls, telex/fax messages or e-mails
  • Hotel overnight (if necessary)
  • Transport to place of overnight accommodation
  • Depending on flight distance and time of alternative transport Euro 125 up to Euro 600.

  
  And choice between:
  

  • No continuation of the journey and ticket (partly-) reimbursement
  • Re-routing as soon as possible
  • Re-routing at a later point of time

• Cancellation

  • Meals and refreshments in reasonable relation to the waiting time
  • 2 telephone calls, telex/fax messages or e-mails
  • Hotel overnight (if necessary)
  • Transport to place of overnight accommodation
  • Depending on the reason, the time of the cancellation, the flight distance and time of alternative transport Euro 0 up to Euro 600

  And choice between:

  • No continuation of the journey and ticket (partly-) reimbursement
  • Re-routing as soon as possible
  • Re-routing at a later point of time

• Delay

  • Depending on the flight distance after 2, 3 or 4 hours:
  • Meals and refreshments in reasonable relation to the waiting time
  • 2 telephone calls, telex/fax messages or e-mails Hotel overnight (if necessary)
  • Transport to place of overnight accommodation

  After 5 hours:

  • No continuation of the journey and ticket (partly-) reimbursement

• Downgrading

  Depending on the flight distance between 30 and 75% ticket reimbursement.
