Modification of an aircraft registration

To change the owner and/or holder, use the main form “Application for Modification of a Registration”. If applicable, observe the regulations governing signatory powers in the statutes of your association or the extract from the commercial register for legal entities. The first and second pages must be completed in full, signed and sent to us.

A change of holder automatically invalidates the existing maintenance programme (EASA aircraft). The new holder must create a new maintenance programme. Due to the legal possibilities (EASA Part-M/ML), the approval of the maintenance programme by the FOCA is no longer required in all cases (self-declaration or approval by CAMO/CAO). The maintenance programme must always be submitted with the application for modification of the holder.

In the event of a change of holder, the insurance certificate, the Aircraft station licence and, if available, the 406MHz ELT- Registration (elt@bazl.admin.ch) must also be amended.

Obligation to Report Changes of Name or Address

Any changes to company or association names, as well as changes of address related to aircraft registered in the Swiss Aircraft Register, must be reported to the Aircraft Registry (aircraftregistry@bazl.admin.ch) proactively and in full, including the relevant supporting documents (e.g. commercial register extract, association form, etc.).

Note

The annual fee will be sent to the new holder of the aircraft at the end of the year. The FOCA will not issue any further invoices. If necessary, a pro rata division of the costs must be agreed upon independently by the former and the new holder.
