This division is responsible for the approval of designs of aircraft and the constant supervision of the airworthiness of aviation materials, as well as the supervision of developers and manufacturers, maintenance operations and the education and qualification of specialised personnel. In these areas it ensures that both national and international safety provisions are implemented within the Swiss civil aviation industry.
Safety Division – Aircraft comprise comprises the following six sections: Standardisation, Enforcement and Registry; Airworthiness Engineering; Airworthiness Section, Zurich; Airworthiness Section, Bern; Technical Organisations, Zurich; Technical Organisations, Bern.
