There is now a strict separation between safety-related activities and those dealing with aviation policy. This new environment enables the FOCA to fulfil its duties as a certification and supervisory authority in a progressive and effective manner, and to exercise its role as a regulatory authority in a national and international context. Furthermore, the FOCA plays a key role in the formulation of Swiss aviation policy.
