Conflict in Ukraine

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is affecting numerous areas, including air traffic. The Federal Council is monitoring the situation closely and is taking the necessary measures step by step.

Decisions of the Federal Council

29.3.2023 – Aircraft operators of non-scheduled flights between Russia and Switzerland, operated directly or via a third country, shall notify all relevant information concerning the flight to the FOCA prior to their operation, and at least 48 hours in advance. 

24.5.2022 - Currently, flying, training and checking of pilots with Russian nationality is not permitted in the territory of Switzerland, nor will FOCA issue any corresponding license.
