Operation of Complex Airplanes Section

The Operation of Complex Airplanes section supervises the flight operations of complex fixed-wing aircraft in Switzerland and is responsible for the ongoing supervision of private and commercial flight operations.

The section conducts audits and inspections to ensure that companies carry out their operations, training and inspections in accordance with the applicable legal provisions and standards. This also applies with respect to crew, ground handling activities and the transport of dangerous goods.

The section further examines applications and requests from all companies with fixed-wing aircraft and issues certificates and licences. It is also responsible for assessing all reports from complex, fixed-wing aircraft on incidents in Switzerland or in which Swiss companies are involved, and adopts the appropriate measures.
