Mountain landing sites

Mountain landing sites are landing sites outside of aerodromes and without infrastructure that are located at more than 1,100 metres above sea level. They are used for training, exercise and sports purposes or for tourist passenger transport.

Although mountain landing sites are also off-aerodrome sites and have no infrastructure within the meaning of the Aviation Act, they are explicitly not subject to the Off-Aerodrome Landing Ordinance. The regulations on mountain landing sites can be found in the Aviation Act and the AvIO (Art. 8 AviA ; Art. 54 AvIO) and in the sectoral plan for aviation infrastructure.
