Design, Production, Type Certification, Changes
© Pilatus Aircraft Ltd.

The Type Certification process assures that the design of new or modified aircraft, as well as parts and appliances, conform to internationally agreed safety standards. To achieve this, the European Commission regulations and procedures of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are applied.

If necessary, Airworthiness Directives are issued in order to maintain the original level of safety of aircraft, or parts thereof. Last but not least, the Process addresses the certification requirements for aircraft of the special category.

Please note our e-mail address for your concerns about type certification for national projects (Non-EASA aircraft).

Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreements (BASA, Working Arrangement and MOU)

The Agreements are published on the website: "Safety - International affairs - Technical agreements".
