In order to keep their licences up to date, pilots and air traffic controllers are required to periodically undergo a special medical examination. Aeromedical Services is responsible for supervising the Aeromedical Centre and aeromedical examiners. It also functions as the initial authority for handling appeals in the event of disputes between pilots or air traffic controllers and aeromedical examiners.
