In-flight supplies, including catering, intended for carriage or use on board an aircraft shall be sub-jected to security controls and thereafter protected until loaded onto the aircraft in order to prevent prohibited articles from being introduced on board an aircraft.
‘In-flight supplies’ means all items intended to be taken on board an aircraft for use, consumption or purchase by passengers or crew during a flight, other than:
- cabin baggage
- items carried by persons other than passengers
- air carrier mail and air carrier materials
‘Known supplier of in-flight supplies’ means a supplier whose procedures meet common security rules and standards sufficient to allow delivery of in-flight supplies to an air carrier or regulated supplier, but not directly to aircraft.
Supplies shall be considered as in-flight supplies from the time that they are identifiable as supplies to be taken on board an aircraft for use, consumption or purchase by passengers or crew during a flight.
In-flight supplies shall be screened before being taken into a security restricted area.
