Aircraft parts that are not produced or maintained in accordance with the relevant regulations and international standards must be reported to the FOCA without delay as ‘unapproved parts’ or as ‘suspected unapproved parts’ (SUP). Once the parts in question have been verified as unapproved parts, an ‘Unapproved Parts Notification (UPN)’ is published.
Aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers and persons responsible for the maintenance of aircraft or who supply spare parts for aircraft, must report any suspected (SUP) and counterfeit aircraft parts and products to the FOCA without delay.
