Blunt objects

Blunt objects, which could cause considerable damage to people or the aircraft, are not allowed in the cabin and are therefore not allowed in carry-on baggage. Examples of not allowed objects are:

Werkzeug
  • hammers
  • chisels
  • screw drivers
  • baseball bats
  • objects for martial arts

Sharp objects

Objects that could be misused as weapons and whose blades are longer than 6 cm are not allowed in the carry-on baggage. These objects can be carried in the checked baggage only. Examples for objects that could be misused as weapons are:

Klingen
  • razor blades
  • cutting tools
  • knifes
  • pocket knifes
  • scissors

Notice: Carry blunt and sharp objects in the checked baggage. Pack the items in such a way that they cannot cause any damage during transport and will not hurt anyone. In case of doubt contact your airline (also regarding more restrictive provisions in other countries)


Firearms

Firearms or replicas of firearms are not allowed in the carry-on baggage, but may, under certain conditions, be carried in the checked baggage. Examples are:

Waffen und Wasserpistolen
  • pistols
  • rifles
  • water pistols
  • ammunation
  • airsoft guns

Notice: With permission of the airline unloaded weapons and ammunition may be carried in the checked baggage. Contact your airline for the requirements.

Individual countries and airline operators may apply more restrictive provisions concerning luggage. In case of doubt contact your airline or the airport.
